This article is an excerpt from the Genius Hub Doctor, which is built into the App.

These instructions are provided so that the step-by-step information is available to users, but please note that these actions should generally be carried out whilst using the Doctor.

Step 1

A 'Communications Adapter' must be fitted into your Genius Hub before the Genius Hub can communicate with the Genius Radiator Valve.

First, take the Wireless Radiator Valve to the Genius Hub, so it is within 2 meters of the Genius Hub with nothing in between.

Remove the battery cover. To do this turn the device around until the screen faces away from you. Push in the tab on the back and pull the battery cover up and off the top top of the Genius Radiator Valve.

Insert the 2 x AA Batteries into the device, ensuring they are the correct orientation

Replace the battery cover by first lining up the screen with the clear plastic section of the cover and gently pressing down until the cover meets the bottom ring.


Step 2

Now the hub needs to get ready to add the device.

The Doctor will search for the new device


Step 3

Press and release the button and the Wireless symbol should flash.

The letters or numbers on the screen of the valve are not important at this point.


All icons on the screen should flash, then stop flashing when the device has included successfully.

The Doctor will test for communication with the device


Step 4

Now pick a zone to assign the Wireless Radiator Valve to.

The Doctor will ask you to select a zone


Step 5

The Doctor will create the new zone

The Doctor will now assign the device to a zone



Step 7

Install the Wireless Radiator Valve onto the radiator.


First attach the correct adaptor to the TRV body on the radiator. Types of valve adapter:

Standard M30

  • Screw the short adapter onto the valve body tight (the metal part that the water flows through).
  • Make sure that the valve has a flashing 'M' on the screen.
  • Screw the Wireless Radiator Valve onto the TRV adaptor tight.
  • Long press the button under the screen until the valve starts to buzz and 'M' stops flashing.

Danfoss RA

  • Push the tall adapter on the TRV body and use a hex key to tighten the adapter until the adaptor starts to distort slightly.
  • Make sure that the valve has a flashing 'M' on the screen.
  • Screw the Wireless Radiator Valve onto the TRV adaptor.
  • Long press the button under the screen until the valve starts to buzz and 'M' stops flashing.
