If you do not put the a smart plug into a 'roomzone' on the app it is considered to be 'unassigned', and the app will have no control over the time that the outlet on the smart plug is on or off. You can now use the plug 'manually' - switch by switching the plug on or off by pressing the button on the front of it. The colour of the button will be red if the plug is on, and clear if it is off.

Please note that if you turn the plug on manually, you must remember that when if the hub restarts (which is once a week on a Monday) , which it will do if the software is upgraded on it, or if there is a power cut, then the smart plug defaults may default to the off state. Therefore, please be careful not to plug anything into it which needs to be on all of the time such as a fridge or freezer.
