Step 1
To remove the Smart Plug from the system, it needs to be powered on and in range of the Genius Hub.
To add the device, ideally this is within direct range of the Genius Hub (either in the same room as each other, or adjacent rooms).
If the devices are not close enough together:1. Plug the Smart Plug into a power socket in the same room as the Genius Hub
2. Move the Genius Hub closer to the Smart Plug. The Genius Hub must have power and an Internet connection. This can be done by:
a) Using a long Ethernet cable
b) Plugging the Hub into a different Ethernet switch
c) Using a Power Line Ethernet adaptor or WiFi booster which has an Ethernet port (
see this link for how to connect the hub with a power-line Ethernet adaptor
)
Alternatively, click here, if the device has failed/is no longer in the property
Step 2
Now the Genius Hub needs to get ready to remove the device.
The Doctor will remove the device
Step 3
Press the clear/red button 3 times in within 1.5 seconds.
The red light will being to flash when the device has excluded successfully. If the red light does not flash, unplug and re-plug in the device.
