Powered Room Thermostat No Power

Step 1
The Powered Room Thermostat should always display a temperature on the screen when it is interacted with. If it doesn't then it has no power.
Let's take a look at what could cause a loss of power.
First, check if the fuse that feeds the power to the Powered Room Thermostat has blown.
Check the fused spur which feeds the power to the boiler and Powered Room Thermostat. If there is a neon light on the device, this should be on.
If the neon light is off, the fuse will need to be replaced with one of the same type and rating.
Do not do anything with electrical wiring, unless you are confident and competent to do so!
UK legislation says that:
" A competent person is someone who has sufficient training and experience or knowledge and other qualities that allow them to assist you properly. "
We may mention in these instructions to do checks on wiring - if you are not a competent person, then you should have an electrician carry out these checks.

Step 2
A lack of power could also be caused by a circuit breaker that has tripped.
Check the relevant circuit at the Consumer Unit to ensure that the correct circuit is turned on for your heating system.
If this trips again, one of the devices on the circuit has an electrical fault and should be investigated by a competent professional.
Step 3
One more thing to check - t here may be a loose wire between the supply and the Powered Room Thermostat.
This must be done by an 'electrically competent person'!
The Powered Room Thermostat will have to be removed from its pattress to check the connection.
- First
remove the screen by pushing a small flat-bladed screwdriver into the flat gap on each side of the screen.
- Unscrew the Powered Room Thermostat from the pattress, there will be one screw on each of the leaft and right hand sides of the device.
- Check the wiring against the Powered Room Thermostat wiring instructions ( https://www.geniushub.co.uk/wiring ).

Re-fit the Powered Room Thermostat into the pattress using the 2 screws. Due to the cutouts to the side of the screen of the PRT, it can either be screwed directly to the pattress, or the screws can be mostly screwed in first and the Powered Room Thermostat placed over the screwheads and rotated.
- Place the frame on the Powered Room Thermostat and push the screen in place to secure the two parts to the main unit, ensuring the logo is at the top-left of the screen.
The Powered Room Thermostat has a single solid red light when calling for heat. A temperature will also be displayed when a button is pressed.
